You Have The Power to Change The Future

Rooftop Power started in Warwick, Rhode Island in 2017 with a simple conviction: going solar should be honest, local and built to last. Seven years and more than 3,027 installations later, that is still the whole playbook. We Are The Renewable Generation.

Built in Rhode Island, The Old-Fashioned Way

We did not arrive in New England with a national sales machine. We grew here, one referral at a time, from our headquarters on West Natick Road in Warwick. Today our own crews have completed more than 3,027 residential installations across Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut, with more than 5,065 solar projects on the books overall.

The model has never changed. Our electricians, roofers and installers are Rooftop Power employees. When we grow, we hire people, not subcontractors. That is why we were named a Top Work Places company in Rhode Island, and it is why the crew on your roof answers to the same name that is on your agreement.

Family owned and locally run means the people who sell the job, install the job and service the job all work under one roof. There is no national call center, no handoff to a stranger, and no chance that the company disappears when you need a warranty honored. We live where we work, and our reputation is the only marketing that has ever mattered to us.

Why Local and In-House Actually Matters

The solar industry runs on subcontractors. Most of the big names sell you a system, then hire whatever roofing and electrical crew is cheapest that week to bolt it on. When something goes wrong, you are stuck between a salesperson who has moved on and a crew that was never really yours. We built Rooftop Power to be the opposite of that.

Because our crews are employees, accountability never leaves the building. The person who designs your array, the roofer who preps the deck, the electrician who ties in the panels and the tech who services it years later all wear the same badge. There is no finger-pointing, because there is no one else to point at. If a panel underperforms in year six, that is our problem to fix, and we do.

That structure is also what lets us hold a real craftsmanship standard. We are not passing a job to a low-bid crew and hoping. We train our own people, we set our own quality bar, and we inspect our own work. It is slower to build a company this way, and it is the only way we were willing to build one.

  • One company designs, installs and services the system, so accountability never leaves the building

When Other Installers Walked Away, We Showed Up

A few years ago, national solar companies collapsed and left Rhode Island homeowners stranded mid-project, with panels on the roof and nobody answering the phone. NBC 10’s I-Team covered what happened next. Rooftop Power stepped in to help finish jobs we did not sell and did not profit from starting.

We did it because those homeowners are our neighbors, and because somebody local had to. Some of them had paid in full for systems that were never switched on. We got them connected, got them producing, and got them a company they could actually call. If you were one of them, you already know our service team.

That is the kind of thing you can only do when you are rooted in one place. A company selling in forty states cannot show up for a stranded customer in Cranston or Coventry. We can, because this is home, and because the whole point of being local is that you do not get to walk away.

The People Leading The Charge

Rooftop Power is led by people who have spent their careers in renewable energy and still walk job sites. Beneath them is a bench of installers, roofers, electricians and coordinators who make the work real, and they are the reason our name means what it does in this market.

Hyrum Bond

A driving force in the renewable energy movement, with experience at industry leaders like Tesla and SolarCity. Hyrum’s focus is simple: clean, affordable power for every homeowner who wants it, delivered with technical rigor.

Scott Brown

Years of renewable energy expertise and a passion for helping New England families take control of their energy future. Scott has helped countless homeowners lower their bills while doing right by the planet.

The Crews

Electricians, roofers, installers, service techs and coordinators, all Rooftop Power employees. They are the reason hundreds of homeowners rate us 4.8 stars, and the reason we can stand behind every roof we touch.

Everything We Do Sits On One Roof

Most homeowners meet us for solar, but Rooftop Power is built to handle the whole energy picture for a New England home. We install residential and commercial solar, battery storage for backup power, EV chargers, standby generators, and we replace roofs, because a solar array belongs on a roof with real life left in it.

Being a roofing company as much as a solar company is not a side business, it is the point. When a roof needs work, we replace it and install the panels as one project, on one timeline, under one warranty, instead of coordinating two contractors and hoping they agree on who owns a leak. It is one of the biggest reasons homeowners pick a local installer that owns the entire job.

That full scope also means we can grow with your home. Start with solar, add a battery when you want outage protection, add an EV charger when the new car arrives, add a generator for the deep-winter nights. Because we designed the original system, every addition is clean, and every call comes back to the same company.

From First Call to Long After Activation

From that first conversation through installation day, we guide you with transparency, education and support. We put real numbers in writing before you commit, we pull the permits, we handle the utility interconnection with Rhode Island Energy, Eversource, National Grid or United Illuminating, and our own crews do the work, usually in one to three days on site.

We do not run a high-pressure sales floor. If solar does not make sense for your roof, your shading or your usage, we tell you before you sign, not after. A company that says yes to every house is not being straight with you, and we would rather lose a sale than earn a bad review from a system that never should have gone up.

And after your system is connected we do not walk away. We monitor performance, handle service and warranty claims locally, and teach you how to get the most out of your system. Solar is a 25-year relationship, and we build every part of the company to still be here for year 25.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Rooftop Power located?
Our headquarters is at 275 W Natick Road, Suite 800, Warwick, Rhode Island, and our crews serve Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut from there.
Does Rooftop Power use subcontractors?
No. Our electricians, roofers and installers are Rooftop Power employees. The team that designs your system is part of the same company that installs and services it, which is why accountability for your project never leaves the building.
How long has Rooftop Power been in business?
We were founded in 2017 in Warwick, Rhode Island, and have completed more than 3,027 residential installations and over 5,065 solar projects since, all across Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Is Rooftop Power a family-owned local company?
Yes. We are family owned and locally run out of Warwick, Rhode Island. We are not a national brand selling in forty states, and that is deliberate. Being rooted in one region is what lets us show up for warranty work, service calls and even homeowners other companies stranded.
What services does Rooftop Power offer besides solar?
We handle the whole energy picture for a home: residential and commercial solar, battery storage, EV chargers, standby generators, and full roof replacement. Because we are a roofing company as much as a solar company, we can replace a roof and install panels as one project under one warranty.
Why does Rooftop Power replace roofs too?
Solar panels last 25 years or more, so they belong on a roof with real life left in it. Putting panels on an aging roof means paying to pull them off and reinstall them later. Because our own crews handle both, we can replace the roof and install solar on one timeline, under one warranty, and save you that headache.
Is Rooftop Power licensed and accredited?
Yes. We are licensed in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut, and we hold an A+ accreditation with the Better Business Bureau. We were also named a Top Work Places company in Rhode Island.
How many reviews does Rooftop Power have?
We hold a 4.8-star rating across hundreds of Google reviews. What we are proudest of is how many of them name the specific crew member who did the work, which is what happens when the installers are employees rather than a rotating cast of subcontractors.
Will Rooftop Power tell me if solar is not right for my home?
Yes, and we do it often. Roof age, orientation, shading and your actual usage all matter. A company that says yes to every roof is not being honest. We put your real numbers in writing before you sign, and if the math does not work for your home, you will hear that with no hard sell to follow.
What happens after my system is installed?
We stay. We monitor performance, handle service and warranty claims locally with our own techs, and teach you how to get the most out of your system. Solar is a 25-year relationship, so we build the company to still be answering the phone in year 25.
Which utilities does Rooftop Power work with?
We handle the interconnection with your utility for you: Rhode Island Energy in Rhode Island, Eversource and National Grid in Massachusetts, and Eversource and United Illuminating in Connecticut. You do not have to navigate the paperwork alone.
