Protection That Comes Standard

Solar Manufacturer Warranties, Explained

Every major component on your roof carries its own manufacturer warranty, and our workmanship warranty covers the installation itself. Here is what that means in plain English.

The Three Warranties on Every System

A residential solar system is covered by layers of protection, not a single warranty. Understanding the difference matters when you compare quotes, because a low price with weak coverage is not a low price.

Panel Warranties

Modern monocrystalline panels typically carry a 25-year product and performance warranty. The performance side guarantees the panel still produces a stated percentage of its original output decades in.

Inverter Warranties

Inverters and microinverters typically carry 10 to 25 year manufacturer warranties depending on the brand and model in your design. The inverter is the working heart of the system, so this term matters.

Battery Warranties

Home batteries typically carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty tied to cycles or throughput. We size and configure storage so it lives comfortably within those terms.

Our Workmanship Warranty

Manufacturer warranties cover the equipment. Our workmanship warranty covers everything we did to put it on your home: the mounting, the flashing, the wiring and the roof penetrations. If an issue traces back to the installation, we make it right.

Because our electricians and roofers are Rooftop Power employees rather than subcontractors, the crew that stands behind the work is the same company you signed with. That is not true everywhere in this industry.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long are solar panels under warranty?
Most modern monocrystalline panels carry 25-year product and performance warranties from the manufacturer. The exact terms depend on the panel model in your design, and we put the documentation in your hands at activation.
Who do I call if my system has a problem?
Call Rooftop Power at (401) 298-8040. Our local team diagnoses the issue, files any manufacturer claim for you and performs the repair. You never have to chase an equipment manufacturer yourself.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell my home?
Manufacturer warranties stay with the equipment, and our workmanship warranty is transferable to the new owner. Solar coverage transferring with the house is a selling point, not a complication.
What does the workmanship warranty cover?
The installation itself: mounting, flashing, wiring and roof penetrations. If a problem traces back to how the system was installed, we fix it. Equipment faults are handled under the relevant manufacturer warranty, which we manage for you.
